Microsoft Teams replacing Skype for Business

WSU is sending out an announcement Tuesday morning about Microsoft Teams replacing Skype for Business (SfB). Most of you have not used Skype for Business and those that did found it to be problematic.

Microsoft Teams is intended to “bring together a collaborative workspace, file management, project and task tools, persistent chat (IM), and a new type of online meeting space all into one solution, making it even easier for WSU to communicate and collaborate.”

The email being sent out will explain what happens for those of you that previously used SfB, such as what happens with your contacts. SfB will be completely decommissioned on Jan 27.

For those of you wanting to use Teams, the email will explain how to get started and have a list of upcoming Zoom training sessions on how to use Teams (also shown below).

Questions and support is through the Crimson Service Desk (509-335-HELP or CrimsonServiceDesk@wsu.edu)
