The Phishers are getting more creative. They’re also taking advantage of whatever campus IT activity is ongoing. For instance, with the Okta security project going on, phishers have been sending emails asking you to verify your new account information. Don’t fall for it. Once you have gone through the Okta password and security reset, they will not ask you to verify your credentials via a follow-up email.

Recently, I have seen a trend in the language used in the fake emails improving – somewhat. But that is still a good first check on telling if the email is fake.
