As an Eastern WA native, I am thrilled to return to WA to join the TFREC team and Wenatchee community! Most recently, I was a Viticulture Extension Specialist at North Carolina State University. In this role I worked with NC grape growers and NC Cooperative Extension agents to provide extension education materials for best viticulture practices and conducted grower driven field-applied research.
Prior to this position, I earned my PhD in Horticulture at WSU where my research focused on alternative pest and disease management for wine grapes. Specifically, I used nighttime applications of UV-C light to manage grapevine powdery mildew and grape mealybug. As I was located at WSU IAREC, I was actively involved in Extension events. I am looking forward to bringing my experience to my new role as Tree Fruit Extension Educator!
