Welcome Jaswanth Ubbara

I am Jaswanth Rayal from Andhra Pradesh, India. India largely depends on the agriculture sector. Besides, agriculture is not just a means of livelihood but a way of living life in India with nearly 60% of farming land. My grandfather is a farmer producing the Oranges and mangoes, as well as some agronomic crops like wheat and rice. Since from my childhood i have been part in the farming with my grandfather. From there my interest towards agriculture started and decided to study Agriculture.

I hold a BSc Agriculture Degree from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth University- India. with specialization in genetics and Plant breeding and taking an agricultural internship on ongoing field activities like pre harvesting measures and post harvesting methods on groundnut crop and some other agricultural internships.

During my rural work experience program in my undergraduate I realized that post-harvest losses are major concerns in India due to lack of new technologies and some advanced methods to prevent the post harvest losses. So I think that there is a lot of scope and opportunities to learn new things in post harvesting.

I was divinely selected by the professor and my advisor  Dr. Carolina Torres and got admission in Washington State University. And I am very much excited to work under her supervision so I can impact  something in post harvesting losses in my country.
