Remote Access

Many of you have asked about remoting into your computers so you can work at home. To be able to do this, you need to have Admin user privileges on the computer you will be accessing. If you have that, then here are the next steps.

  • You will need to prepare the computer for access. View instructions here: Enable RDP (be sure to make note of “host name”, i.e. the computer’s full network name as shown on the pdf instructions)
  • You will need VPN software on the computer you will be using from home to connect to the network. You can download the software here: GlobalProtect SSLVPN:  Windows | Mac – Linux
  • Follow the installation instructions as shown on the software download page.
  • Once installed, Global Protect should start automatically. If it doesn’t access it from the Start menu (PC) or top ribbon on a Mac.
  • The final thing you will need is a remote access App on your computer at home. You can get Microsoft Remote Access here:  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/microsoft-remote-desktop/9wzdncrfj3ps?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Note: only one person can access the computer at a time.
