Sumyya Waliullah joined the Tree Fruit Physiology Lab under the supervision of Dr. Lee Kalcsits on December 1, 2016, as a Visiting Scholar. Sumyya completed her Ph.D. in Plant molecular biology from Ehime University, Japan. Her doctoral work focused on the molecular basis of plant-microbe interactions. Previously, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Ohio State University and UT Southwestern Medical Center. She will be working on histology, microscopy, and the molecular mechanisms involved in physiological disorders of apple and pear.
