Please welcome Dr. Amiri’s new Postdoctoral Associate Dr. Emran Ali who started his new position at TFREC on July 1st, 2016. Ali earned his MS and  PhD degrees in Plant Molecular Biology from Ehime University, Japan where he worked with RNA silencing-mediated disease resistance mechanisms. In the last two years, Ali worked as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the Ohio State University where he conducted research on host-pathogen interaction in soybean. At TFREC, Ali will be investigating the molecular mechanisms involved in fungicide resistance development in tree fruit pathogens as well as understating the host-pathogen interaction in some fungal pathogens newly reported in the Pacific Northwest.
