IT News & Updates – June 28

Rounding out the end of June, there is not much new to report. However, I do want to cover what will be happening in July. As I mentioned in the last post, Nick and Michael will be here the week of July 9th to perform the long-awaited upgrades on our network setup by installing the new firewall equipment, getting us one step closer to the phone upgrades, moving the main network rack in Overley to open up the room, and setting up the conference podium. While they are working on the network there will be intermittent internet outages. They would like to minimize the impact of these outages by asking when would be the best time for them to have the outages – mornings, afternoons, or evenings? Is anyone doing any intensive internet related work that short outages would adversely affect you? I need to hear from anyone that even thinks there may be an impact on your work during this week. They will try to schedule accordingly to minimize problems. But they can only do this if you let me know in advance what your online work schedule would be during that week.
