IT News & Updates: 6-10-19

This News Blast is dedicated to phone change requests. CAHNRS IT now has a service request form dedicated to Phone Services. The plan is to have people needing changes made to an existing phone or need a new phone, fill out a specialized form. The form can be found on the CAHNRS IT Support Portal (https://support.it.cahnrs.wsu.edu/portal/). I’ve posted a new page explaining the form and services here: http://tfrec.cahnrs.wsu.edu/admin/phone-change-request/. However, I will be available to submit requests for you.

Things to know about phone requests

Cost The Center will cover the cost of routine changes such as resetting VM PINs or re-initializing VM, etc. Campus will charge us $60.75 per “service change” item, with the exception of changing the Display Name/Caller ID (free). So, if you are requesting multiple changes, the bill could add up quickly. Also, we don’t have any unused phones. Which means new phones would need to be purchased (see the bottom of the Phone Change Request page for a possible alternative). Please discuss any such needs with Darla or Jerry. The service rate page lists the cost of a new phone including setup and license at $1100 plus a minimum of $60.75 for time.

Time Requesting changes is a two-step process. We submit the form to CAHNRS IT. They review the request to make sure all the information is present and accurate. They will then send the requests on to Central IT for execution. Some requests should happen quickly, such as resetting VM PINs. Other changes could take a several days.
