Salary Increases – 2025
Effective July 1, 2025, Civil Service (includes nonpermanent) received a 3% increase.
Effective October 1, 2025, Administrative Professionals will receive a 1.4% increase. (some stipulations apply)
Graduate Students covered by the union will receive a 3% increase October 1, 2025.
Faculty will have the opportunity to earn merit-based increases as outlined in the faculty manual.

Emergency Contact Information – process change
Effective July 8, 2025 a new process will be implemented to enter your emergency contact information. You will now use Everbridge (instead of MyWSU) to provide important emergency contact details.
- Automatic enrollment will occur on July 8th.
- Tile in MyWSU will redirect to Everbridge.

L&I Salary Threshold Implementation Schedule
The salary threshold effective January 2026 to remain exempt from overtime will be $80,168.40 annually / $6,680.70 monthly This is not based on an FTE rate, therefore, even if you are less than 100% you must still make this in order to retain the OT exempt status. This number is figured as 2 times the minimum wage rate.
Salary threshold in 2025 to remain exempt from overtime is $77,968.80 annually / $6,497.40 monthly.
Minimum Wage Increase
Washington State’s minimum wage rate will increase to $17.13/hr effective January 1, 2026. Anyone making less than this amount will be automatically increased to the new minimum rate.
2026 Minimum Wage = 17.13/hr
2025 Minimum Wage = $16.66

Long Term Care changes
In 2019 Washington State citizens voted for a long term care benefit for eligible Washingtonians. Starting January 2025, applicants will be eligible to receive up to a lifetime $36,500 benefit to address a wide range of long term services and support. See this announcement (pdf) for more details.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
WSU offers employees and adult family members living in their household services to help with work and personal concerns. Check out the flyer (pdf) for more information.

myWSU portal
Things you can manage/access using the myWSU portal:
- myWSU will contain tax documents (W-2) prior to Workday implementation in 2021 under HR.Payroll and Benefits.

- Percipio (online learning system)
- Emergency Notification System
Your myWSU page will no longer be the resource to view your current status for direct deposit, benefits, W4 withholdings, view your recent and past earnings statements, change contact information, as well as other employee account information. All of this information will be held in Workday beginning December 16, 2020 and provide self service capability for viewing and updating information.

WSU Benefits
The WSU Benefits page (link) contains all the relevant links for medical plans, retirement & savings, and Wellness Programs.
New employees have 30 days to elect inclusion for some benefit options; more information on these are given during New Employee Orientation.
