What is the Plant Growth Facility (PGF)?
The PGF is a new, state-of-the-art 28,000-square-foot facility at TFREC designed to support advanced tree fruit research through sophisticated environmental control and year-round experimentation.
Why is the PGF important?
The PGF will enhance our ability to conduct complex experiments, combat diseases like fire blight, perform root health assays, and grow pest-free plants, ensuring the sustainability and growth of Washington’s tree fruit industry.
How much money needs to be raised?
We aim to raise $4.2 million in private funds to complete the project.
How can I donate?
Donations can be made online or in person at our kick-off event on October 29.
How will the new facility benefit the tree fruit industry?
The PGF will drive innovation, support research on environmental stresses, enhance disease management, attract top talent, and promote long-term sustainability and collaboration.
When is the kick-off event?
The kick-off event is on October 29, 2024, at the Wenatchee Tree Fruit Research and Extension Center.
